I’ve made mention in an earlier post that I love painting heads. I experiment with colors and brush work. I start off with a vision of what I want to get down on the canvas. Sometimes I get close to what I had in mind. Often I am so far away from my original intent that I become concerned and frustrated. But always there is joy.

The way things work out, it can take a hell of a long time to realize that life is so much fun, when you’re having fun.
This is one in a series of small paintings I did for the Arts and Business Council of Phoenix.

I’ve had the privilege to live in two areas of the country that yearly have what might seen as extreme weather. What I find fascinating is that in Alaska when the temperature rose to 10 below 0, it felt like a heat wave.
Now living in Central Arizona, we are enjoying a very cool 103 degrees.
In this painting I am not suggesting that long sleeves are the norm, but it’s not unusual. We are very adaptable. We have learned to appreciate different types of art and expression. In some areas of our lives we have become liberal in our thinking and receptive to many points of view.
