According to the exhibition catalog, she “practices painting as a kind of symbolic thinking out loudHer recurring motifs reflect personal and universal themes; each meticulously applied layer of glaze carries meaning and inquiry”.

40 of her pieces, from the last 15 years, will be presented at the Oakland Museum from April 25–August 23, 2009.
