If you’ve read any of Belgian writer Georges Simenon’s mysteries with Inspector Maigret or seen the BBC series with Michael Gambon as the wise, humane sleuth, you might enjoy a French version.
Independent public broadcaster MHz Networks offers a Maigret French detective series on its national program service “MHz WORLDVIEW”. The series stars Bruno Cremer as the Parisian inspector, and is a faithful adaptation of Simenon’s classic mystery books. About 50 episodes, of Cremer as Maigret, will be seen in the U.S. on PBS stations – in San Francisco, CA it is shown on Mondays on KCSM at 10PM. In the East, WNVC and WNVT out of Washington, D.C.
